We have THREE exciting camps taking place this summer and need our volunteers and donors to help to make it a success!
Kids’ University will be held from June 4-7 and again June 17-20. Kids’ University is held on the UT Dallas campus, where homeless children enjoy an academic-themed camp with classes on math, science, technology, art, career options and more! The highlight of KU is the graduation ceremony at the end of week, where each child walks across the stage in a cap and gown to receive their diploma! Volunteer opportunities include helping with setup or clean-up; serving as lunchtime helpers, playtime mentors or party planners; and providing cupcakes for the graduation ceremonies.
Camp Bravo! will be held July 9-12 and July 23-26 at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church. This unique performing arts camp for homeless children includes classes on music, dance, acting, prop design, art and more. The camp concludes with the children performing live onstage in front of an audience, showcasing all they have learned throughout the week. Volunteer opportunities include helping with setup or clean-up; serving as lunchtime helpers, playtime mentors or party planners; and providing cookies for the performance celebrations.
Outdoor Adventure Camp will be held August 6-9 and is a traditional outdoor camp experience, where homeless children are able to enjoy playing in the outdoors, riding horses and swimming each afternoon. This camp truly gives them the ultimate outdoor camp experience. Volunteer opportunities include helping with setup and clean-up and making trail mix for a special snack for the children.
