Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Rainbow Days!
Rainbow Days is a nonprofit charitable organization that works with at‐risk children. To conduct its programs, Rainbow Days utilizes the assistance of volunteers. In order to promote safety and protect those that we serve, all potential volunteers are required to participate in a background check screening process.
Each individual who desires to volunteer with our organization, and the children we serve, is required to complete a volunteer application AND undergo a criminal background check. Background checks are not required for minors under 18 years of age.
Upon completion of the volunteer application, you will be sent a separate email containing a link to fill out a background check questionnaire through VolunteerNow’s veriFYI system. The background check is strictly screening for criminal offenses only and does not include a credit check of any kind. VolunteerNOW is a Consumer Reporting Agency and therefore is required by law to provide a copy of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to all applicants although a credit check is not being run as part of the criminal background check process. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the background check process, you may contact VolunteerNow directly at 214-818-9839 or Rainbow Days’ Volunteer Manager, Sunni Roaten, at 214-217-3833.
ALL volunteers MUST complete a criminal background check before working with the children we serve.
Completion of this application and the background check does not guarantee that an individual will be selected as a volunteer. Volunteers will be selected at the sole discretion of Rainbow Days.
Please accurately complete this form at least 7 days before you desire to volunteer. You will not be able to volunteer with the children we serve until your CBC has cleared.
Please Note: It is our policy to re-run criminal background checks on returning volunteers every 2 years. We also reserve the right to run a background check at any time.

Current Volunteer Opportunities & Other Ways to Get Involved
I’m looking forward to other opportunities to volunteer. This was the second year in a row I participated at Rainbow Days and again was so impressed with the organization and the excitement level of the kids!
I always look forward to spending time with the Rainbow Days kids, staff and volunteers. Hands down the best use of my time, resources and talents is volunteering at any of the Rainbow Days events: camps, holidays events, groups, Pot of Gold Luncheon or any other time they are in need.
This organization supports children in desperate situations, and I feel fortunate to assist in this endeavor as well. Not only do you provide a rewarding avenue for people to volunteer, you show them how!
